Timbertech Wins Quality Awards

Begawan - A Brunei company was awarded for its commitment to
quality, leadership, technology and innovation, its Chairman, Dato
Paduka Ampuan Hj Mohd Yassin Ampuan Salleh, announced yesterday.
Timbertech
Sdn Bhd is the first local company to win the back-to-back awards
and it represents success for Brunei in the business world, he said.
The company received the
International Arch of Europe Award in the Platinum Category at the
International B.I.B. Quality Convention Frankfurt 2007, where
companies from 56 countries were awarded for achievements in quality
and excellence.
Earlier, Timbertech received the
Century International Quality Era Award Gold Category in Geneva in
February 2006, in recognition of its outstanding commitment to
quality and excellence, based on an excellent performance in
producing its product, EC Piles.
The awards in two consecutive years
prove that Timbertech Sdn Bhd has reached maturity and has always
prioritised to produce the highest quality product, the company
said.
The press conference at its
premises at the Salar Industrial Site in Muara was attended by its
Managing Director Tan Peng Lam, and General Manager Chia Fook Sam.
Also present were Awg Hamiddon Hj
Md Said and Hj Rosli DP Hj Hamdani, representatives from the Public
Works Department and BINA respectively.
The awards were given for "the
immeasurable contribution to the business world, for high standing
and professionalism demonstrated by prestigious performance", it was
learned.
Since its establishment, Timbertech
said it is committed to publicising its quality culture with
employees, suppliers, clients and the community supported by the QC
100 total quality management model of its principles.
Its achievements were reached
through seven principles that foster improvement for clients,
employees, suppliers and all others who make up the company, and it
accepts quality as a factor of development to become more
competitive, Timbertech said.
The principles include quality, a
consequence of valuing customer satisfaction and obtaining positive
business results, meeting the quality levels established in the
company in accordance with the QC 100 Points of Quality, and
encouraging participation and teamwork for decision making.
The other principles include
satisfying the needs of clients and meeting their expectations,
providing human resources, technical and economic, to achieve
continuous improvement and respect for the environment, managing
human resources to achieve the maximum potential and making
employees aware of the importance of concentration on the most
profitable areas of activity, and achieving the best business
