Meeting To Improve Public Service

Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei
Darussalam in his recent 23rd National Day titah, announced the
establishment of a steering committee in providing service to the
public by government agencies, chaired by the Permanent Secretary at
the Prime Minister's Office.
In view of this, a working
committee comprising SME entrepreneurs, representatives from the
Chambers of Commerce and community leaders held a meeting at the
Management Service Department (MSD) in Jalan Menteri Besar
yesterday. Chairing the meeting was Permanent Secretary at the Prime
Minister's Office, Pg Dato Paduka Hj Ismail.
The meeting aimed to identify
matters that need improvement and collect input on services provided
by government agencies to the public to be submitted to the steering
committee for consideration.
The steering committee was
established to improve the level of service provided by government
agencies to the public.
His Majesty has frequently
highlighted in his titahs on the need for government servants to
upgrade the quality and level of services provided as
there was an increase in public's
expectation on the services provided by the government.
The Prime Minister's Office through
its strategic planning outlined several objectives targeted at
upgrading services such as the "Quality Service" and "Equitable and
Transparent Service" campaigns.
Meanwhile, other initiatives have
been introduced such as the Business Facilitation Centre run by the
Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Integrated Billing
System run by the Ministry of Communications, and TAFIS system run
by the Ministry of Finance.
