Goodwill Bookstore In Search Of
Local Distributors
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Goodwill Bookstore - one of the biggest and oldest
publishing chains in the Philippines - is for the first time
participating at the Brunei Book Fair 2007 in Berakas to look for
potential distributors for its pre-school, medical books and other
publications.
Based at the Hassanal Bolkiah
Sports Complex Indoor Stadium from February 25 until March 6, the
bookstore has been catering to the requirement of some 5,000
establishments in the Philippines - from universities and libraries
to department stores, supermarkets and even other bookstores.
"Based on our experience as book
distributors mainly in children and medical publications, we are now
expanding our market to Brunei and shall be interested to talk with
local bookstores which are interestedin distributing our
publications in the Sultanate," said Beth Dumlao of Katha Publishing
Co. Inc, an affiliate company of Goodwill Bookstore.
The exhibitor - at Booth 36 - is
mainly displaying its pre-school materials and medical books as well
as college textbooks.
The pre-school books are written in
English by established teachers and owners of schools and are
popular amongst pre-school establishments in the Philippines, she
said.
"Our medical publications are
authored by renowned university professors in the Philippines. We
also have teaching materials for teachers," she added. Apart from
pre-school and medical books, the bookstore also has books on
accounting, general education, trade books, children's storybooks,
references and other quality reading materials. -- Courtesy of Borneo
