PTEB Welcomes 557 New Students

Begawan - The Berakas Sixth Form Centre (PTEB) launched a
fiveday induction programme for this year's intake of Lower Six
students in a ceremony held at its auditorium, yesterday. The
induction ceremony was also held to mark the 23rd National Day
celebrations.
The new intake comprises 208 male
and 349 female students.
Presiding over yesterday's ceremony
was the principal of PTEB, Mdm Lee Yen Tshin. The highlight of the
function was the recital of the Berakas Sixth Form Centre Oath by
the new Lower Six students, signalling the start of their term at
the institution as PTEB students.
Throughout the course of the
induction programme, various activities will be conducted including
registration, familiarisation sessions with PTEB staff as well as a
special programme organised by the PTEB Students' Council.
In the following days, the new
students will attend a series of briefings on administration,
academic structure, discipline, career guidance as well as student
welfare and counselling.
The venues for such activities
include the PTEB Multipurpose Hall, Conference Room, Lecture Room
and the Students' Council room. The new students will also be taken
on a guided tour around the Centre.
Situated on a six-hectare plot of
land in the Lambak Kiri
Housing Scheme, the Berakas Sixth
Form Centre is equipped with two art studios, 14 science labs, three
computer labs, and one language lab.
The new PTEB students have come
from eight secondary schools including STPRI, SMJA, Sayyidina Abu
Bakar Secondary School, St Andrew's School and Berakas Secondary
School.
In addition to the new intake, the
Berakas Sixth Form Centre has 557 Upper Six students it’s who will
be taking this year's Brunei GCE `A' Level examinations. -- Courtesy of Borneo
