The books are the first publications written for elite international readership. It is produced by the Special Affairs Section and issued by the Information Department.

According to the Acting Director of Information, Hj Mahrub Hj Murni, the new books add to the Information Department's growing collection of elite publications. He said that the books would serve as reference materials for journalists as well as states and non-state actors.

"Milestone: 7th Conference of the Asean Ministers Responsible for Information" is a semi-pictorial that highlights the event when Brunei hosted the Asean Information Ministers meeting in October 2002.

The "Milestone: The Reopening of the State Legislative Council", meanwhile, describes the scenario on September 25, 2004 when the legislature's first sitting was held after its 21-year absence.
