Girl Guides Observe World Thinking

Begawan - The Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam
celebrated the World Thinking bay yesterday with the theme "Discover
your potential by taking the lead, growing friendships and speaking
out" at its headquarters in Anggerek Desa.
Present at the event was Her Royal
Highness Princess Hajah Masna, president of the association.
"World thinking Day 2007 focuses
our attention on these three exciting core aims so that many more
girls worldwide can develop leadership skills in a friendly and
supportive way and take action on issues that affect them,", said
Hjh Hajidah Hj Abdul Wahab, the association's secretary.
"Today we learnt about taking steps
to becoming a leader to make the world a better place," said
18-year-old Girl Guide Rozailah Hj Abdul Rahman. "We are very
involved with the older generation and the community and we invited
the elders to our function today for some activities."
The 51-year-old association in
Brunei aims to help young girls develop their self-esteem and
leadership skills. "We try to instil a noh-formal education for the
girls," said Hjh Noraini Ibrahim, chairperson for World Thinking Day
