Two Die In Tutong Road Mishap

Tutong - A family of five, all Bruneians, who were on their way back to Mumong, Kuala Belait from the capital, met with a tragic accident at Km 9 Tutong-Seria highway, which killed two and severely injured the other three.

ASP Hj Othman bin Hj Ahmad, Road Traffic Officer of the Tutong District Police Station, told tht Bulletin that they received a call on the accident yesterday around 7.25pm.

The vehicle, an SUV, was believed to have lost control, skidded and hit the steel railing of the road. At the time of the accident, the road was wet as there was a light drizzle and the area was dark along the Bukit Beruang-Bukit Udal highway.

The deceased, a male and a female, reportedly died on the spot due to severe head injuries. The other three - a„ female, a male and a child - were rushed to RIPAS Hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
