Group A fixtures for the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy for Asean Youth
Football Championship with Singapore now taking on defending
champions Thailand and Malaysia meeting Vietnam on Sunday, March 4.
On Thursday, March 8, Singapore
will meet Malaysia and Thailand will square off with Vietnam.
The rest of the fixtures remain
unchanged with Brunei locking horns with Cambodia immediately after
the opening ceremony on Saturday, March 3 and Myanmar meeting
Philippines in the opening match earlier in the day.
The tournament from March 3-12 is
organised and technically managed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth
and Sports and Brunei Darussalam Football Association in
collaboration with the Asean Football Federation.
The meet aims to support His
Majesty's Titah to involve the best teams in Asean to expose great
abilities in Asean sportsmanship to the world.
Eight teams are vying for honours
this year after the withdrawal of Indonesia and Laos. In Group A are
Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam while Group B is made up
of Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei and Cambodia.
The top two teams from each group
will play in the semifinals on Saturday, March 10 while the final
will be held on Monday, March 12 all at the Hassanal Bolkiah
