Brunei Bikers Leave Lasting
Impression
By Mohammad Abdullah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - UPM students who recently rode up to Brunei
Darussalam on their mopeds were very pleased with the hospitality
extended to them by the Brunei bikers.
Members of Darussalam Motorcycle
Association (PEMODA), KEKAL and independent riders turned up at the
Jerudong Park Playground for an informal get-together dinner with
their Malaysian guests.
"It's impressive that these
students would ride their low powered bikes all the way to Brunei
from Bintulu without any back ups," said one of the riders.
The students showed their
appreciation by presenting a memento to the presidents of the Brunei
Bike clubs.
Big bikes as well as scooters
converged at the playground to demonstrate to the students what
biker brotherhood is all about.
In his speech, the head of the
student delegation said that the group was surprised and overwhelmed
with the kind treatment extended to them throughout their stay in
Brunei Darussalam.
"Most of us are from West Malaysia.
Even though we study at University Putera
Malaysia (UPM) in Bintulu, we don't
have many opportunities to visit Brunei.
"We're on a holiday break at the
moment and decided to make our way to Brunei to see the
celebrations. We didn't expect to get this type of reception from
the bikers in Brunei," said a UPM Student. -- Courtesy of Borneo
