Fun Activities For All At Brunei Book Fair

Bandar Seri Begawan - Visitors to the Brunei Book Fair (BBF) 2007 to be held at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex, Berakas from February 25 to March 6, will be able to participate in a number of daily activities to win attractive prizes.

Dayang Hajah Siti Zaleha bte Hj Kaprawi, organising secretary of BBF 2007 cum Head of Public Relations and Marketing, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), said aptitude tests will be conducted several times a day on the stage at the venue.

"Students and visitors will also be able to participate in quizzes, treasure hunts, word puzzles, mind tests, word constructions, picture puzzles, and talent tests in acting and music," she added.

She said there will also be colouring and drawing contests for children and students on March 1, 2 and 3.

A prize presentation for winners of the colouring and drawing contests in all categories will be held on the afternoon of March 4. Winners of the contests will be notified by phone, she added.

"They can also participate in other contests such as jawi reading, to be held February 26 in the morning, or jawi writing in the afternoon. Meanwhile, there will be an artistic jawi writing contest on the morning of March 4 and an artistic roman writing contest in the afternoon," Dyg Hjh Siti Zaleha said.

The Women Graduates Association will also organise a storytelling session on the afternoon of March 2.

She said motivational talks such as "Reading Culture" will be held in the morning and afternoon of February 26 while Life Skills talk will be presented by the AntiDrugs Association at 2pm on February 28.

Other activities include workshops on Library Management (Feb 26-March 3), ICT (Feb 26-March 5), and Children's Book Illustrations (March 3-5).

A forum on Business Network Amongst Asean Book Publishers will take place at 2pm on February 25, while an ICDL seminar organised by Bitex Sdn Bhd will be held at 2pm on March 6. Visitors will also be able to witness performances by DBP at 2pm on February 25, poetry and syair recitals at 8pm on February 28, and Islamic Poetry Recital at 8pm on March 1. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
