Tutong Gets Its Share Of Mini
Flags

Begawan - Some 2,500 mini national flags were distributed
among Tutong residents yesterday in a bid to spread the festive
cheer of the upcoming 23rd National Day celebrations. The flags are
displayed on cars as a reminder of the nation's sovereignty as well
as loyalty to the monarch and country.
The Acting Deputy Assistant
District Officer, Awg Mohd Rizal Hj Zainal Abidin, was on hand to
launch the ceremony to distribute the mini national flags at the
Seri Kenangan Community Complex.
He opened the event by placing the
first few flags on government and private vehicles as well as
motorcycles before the convoy proceeded to drive around Tutong town.
He later presented the mini flags
to the village leaders to be distributed to residents in their
respective areas. The mini national flags were also distributed to
residents in Belait and Temburong districts.
Also present at the ceremony were
representative from the national mini flag sponsorship committee and
representatives from a number of government agencies..
The national mini flag sponsorship
committee handed out about 30,000 mini flags throughout the country
at the launching ceremony on Friday at the Rizqun International
Hotel in Gadong. The number of the mini flags was increased from
25,000 to 30, 000 this year folowing public's enthusiastic response. -- Courtesy of
