PDS Students Make School Proud
By Gatz
Bandar Seri
Begawan - PDS students recently achieved outstanding results
in the October/November BGCE `O'-Level Examinations 2006.
Three students - Malavika Nadig,
Mariluz Germaine D Daymiel and Sashreekh Prabhakar achieved eight
A's (distinction). Rafee Mohd Mahaimen Hoque and Sonia P Sunilkumar
bagged seven A's, while Abdul Waliyuddin Yahya, Hjh Shazwani Hj Md
Nor, Ho Kian Ping, Jonathan Chan, Yau Ching Leong,.Mohammad Khalid
Hussain, Virli Anne S Sebastian and Ghanasham Thapa got four A's and
above.
Out of the 85 students in Form Five
who sat for the examination, 68 per cent scored four `O' level
credits and above.
The school is also proud to
announce no failure in the subjects of Bahasa Melayu, History,
Physics and Chemistry. Considering the high number of non-Malay
speaking expatriate children taking Bahasa Melayu as a challenge,
such achievement is outstanding.
The students have also excelled in
English Language, Geography, Biology and Computer Studies keeping
the number of failures a record low of six per cent and less. With
only 31 students in 2004, the Form Five population has more than
doubled in a span of three years.
The students have managed to excel
academically despite of the numerous extra curricular activities and
events held at the school.
This is in keeping with the
school's motto "Moulding all-rounded students who are committed to
excelling in their academics while exposing and honing their hidden
talents". The management of PDS also extended its congratulations to
the students and staff for their exemplary performance and expressed
their gratitude to teachers and parents for their continuous support
and trust in the school, which has helped it to become one of the
leading private schools in Brunei. -- Courtesy of Borneo
