Crown Prince Attends DPMM FC Gala

Bandar Seri Begawan - HRH Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman last night attended the DPMM Fottball Club's Annual Gala.

The function was held at the Empire Theatre of the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong.

Their Royal Highnesses were greeted on arrival by the Vice Chairman of the DPMM Football Club, Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pg Anak Hj Abdul Rahim as well as other members of the Club. Also present was His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was presented with a 'pesambah' from the Vice Chairman of DPMM FC.

Representatives of the DPMM Football Club, Sri Sentosa Sendirian Berhad, Royal Brunei Airlines, Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, Mitsubishi Corporation, Brunei Shell Marketing, DST Group and Riverview Hotel also presented other pesambah to HRH the Crown Prince.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also consented to received donations for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for The Orphans donated by the DPMM FC, Sri Sentosa Sendirian Berhad and Royal Brunei Airlines, Maju Motors Sendirian Berhad and Riverview Hotel.

His Royal Highness then handed over the donations to Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud, the CEO for Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for the Orphans.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2005/2006 Player of the Year Award. HRH the Crown Prince consented to present the Award to Rene Kumar in recognition of his contributions and outstanding performances.

HRH the Crown Prince also presented the `Best Achievement Coach Award' to Mr Ranko Buketa. HRH the Crown Prince also consented to present the `Long Service Award' to Mohamad Norilham bin Jais and the `Most consistent Player Award' to Sairol bin Hj Sahri.

Also included in last night functions was the presentation of token of appreciation to players and official of DPMM FC for the year 2005 to 2006 which was presented by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Ret) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Awang Mohammad bin Haji Daud who was also present at the event. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
