Big Thanksgiving Ceremonies On
Crown Prince's Birthday

Begawan - Massive thanksgiving ceremonies were organised last
night simultaneously by the government agencies, mukim and kampong
in mosques throughout the country to commemorate the birthday of the
Crown Prince.
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces was
amongst the many government bodies that held a thanksgiving ceremony
which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence, RBAF Commander
and other senior officers.
The Royal Brunei Police Forces held
its own ceremony, which was attended by the Police Commissioner, his
deputy and officials of Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony, which began with mass
Maghrib prayers, followed by the recital of Surah Yassin, Tahlil and
Isyak prayers, was held at Bolkiah Garrison Surau for the RBAF,
Gadong Police Headquarters Surau for the RBPF and UBD's Surau for
the Ministry of Education.
His Royal Highness Prince General
Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the
Prime Minister's Office, General RBAF and Deputy Inspector General
RBPF will be celebrating his 33rd birthday today. His Royal Highness
was born on February 17, 1974 corresponding to Muharram 24, 1394
Hijriah of the Islamic calendar. The Crown Prince is the third child
of His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin
Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her
Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.
His Royal Highness was put in line
to become the 30th Sultan of Brunei when His Majesty crowned His
Royal Highness in the Royal Proclamation on August 10, 1998. His
Royal Highness was married to Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri
Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah on September 9, 2004. -- Courtesy of
