Minister Works The Kampong Beat

Bandar Seri Begawan - The villagers of Kampung Ayer yesterday had an opportunity to discuss issues of concern and challenges they faced with the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Awg Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Awg Mohd Yusof during his working visit to several kampong in the area.

The minister commenced his visit at Kampung Saba Daral 13 where he held a close door consultation with the village bead, Hj Mayalin hj Saat and community members.

Pehin Dato I Ij Awg Adanan also visited Hj lbralrim liesar, head of Kampung Saba 'T'engah and kampung sub ujung village at his residence.

The minister later went around Kampung Pekilong Muara, Kampung Setia Pahlawan Lama and Mukim Peramu. The working visit concluded with a stop at the stalls in Kg Sungai Kebun before he called on Pengarah Hj Ismit Pengarah Mukim Hj Naim, head of Mukim Peramu at his home.

In an interview with RTB, the minister said: "I advised village chiefs and the community body to keep a lookout for villagers who really need support."

During the meetings, Pehin Dato Hj Awg Adanan also conferred with the villagers on how best to tackle issues relevant to the needs of today's youth.

The Home Affairs Minister's delegation included: Dato Paduka Awg Hj Adnan Hj Hanafiah, Acting Permanent Secretary; Awg Mawardi Hj Abdullah, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary and officers from the ministry and the district Office. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
