DBP Fair To Feature 26 New Publications

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Total of 26 new titles will be launched by Dewan I tahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Brunei at the opening ceremony of the Brunei hook Fair (DBP) 2007 on Feb 25 to satisfy the need of local publications and to enrich the mind of readers so as to widen their perspectives and views.

Dayang Hajah Siti Zaleha Haji Kaprawi, the organising, secretary of BBF 2007 cum the head of DBP Brunei Public Relations and Marketing said the new titles will cover various topics including literature, business, language, reference, researches and children's books.

Topping the list is the latest literary book of Brunei's top novelist Muslim Burmat entitled 'Ntaidu'.

Other titles include "Preposisi Bahasa Dusun dan Bahasa Melayu: tiatu Analisis Kontrastif Dan Analisis Kesilapan" by DrAini Haji Karim (general academic); "Adverbial: Satu Tinjauan Dari Sudut Wacana" (academic) by Dr Azmi Abdullah; and "Ke Arah Mencapai Kejayaan Berniaga (general business) by Hj Muhammad Akhbar.

Scheduled to take place from February 25 to March 6 at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas, hundreds of new titles by foreign publishers will also be found at the event.

Themed "Books Empower the Nation", the fair will see about 100 booths exhibiting publications of local and foreign publishers.

Foreign publishers to participate in the fair are Goodwill Book Store, Manila Asean Book Publisher Association (ABPA, Thailand), Grolier International Corporation Singapore, Maktabah Risalah, Aman Jordan, A' Star Interactive Singapore, Majlis Buku Kebangsaan Malaysia, Pustaka Nasional Pte Ltd Singapore, Asa Vision Sdn Bhd and Pustaka Wira Sdn Bhd. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
