Minister On Working Visit To Water

Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Md Yussof yesterday made a working visit to
several areas of the water village.
The visit allowed the minister a
chance to observe the main facilities available, the activities
organised by the villagers and the problems faced by residents of
the water village.
Accompanying the minister were
Acting Permanent Secretary Dato Paduka Awang Hj Adrian bin Hj
Hanafiah, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary Hj Mawardi bin Hj
Abdullah, Brunei-Muara District Officer Dato Paduka Awang Hj Yussop
bin Bakar, and senior officers from both the ministry and Brunei-Muara
District Office.
The minister commenced his visit at
the residence of Kg Saba Darat `B' Village Head Hj Mayalin bin Hj
Saat, before setting out to tour Mukim Saba, which is made up of
five villages - Kg Saba Darat A, Kg Saba Darat B, Kg Saba Tengah, Kg
Saba Ujong and Kg Saba Laut
The place is home to 1,348 people
and has 179 houses.
Later the minister visited the
homes of Pikalong Muara Village Head Hj Maraji bin Penglima Raja
Dato Paduka Hj Mohiddin and Mukim Peramu Penghulu Pengarah Hj Ismit
bin Pengarah Mukim Hj Naim.
Kg Pikalong Muara is home to 326
residents residing in 43 houses. Meanwhile, Mukim Peramu has seven
villages, 186 houses and 1,742 residents.
The day also saw the minister
paying a visit to the Kg Sungai Kebun Hawkers Area and also the home
of Kg Sungai Kebun Village Head Haji Marali bin Matzin.
The minister said the working visit
is one of a series of visits conducted to closely inspect the
condition of the basic amenities provided by the government for the
benefit of the villagers.
"I had the opportunity to hold
discussions with the penghulu, village head and mukim consultative
council on matters related to the harmony and welfare of the
residents in the area," the minister said
The visit allowed for the
discussion of numerous issues, including the need for village heads
to monitor and inspect the village and for them to identify the
residents who are really in need of assistance.
"It is the aspiration and purpose
of the ministry to view the villages and mukims to ensure and also
study the basic needs, especially for the harmony and welfare of the
