BIBD Opens New Branch In Muara

Bandar Seri Begawan - Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad held an opening ceremony for its new branch located at the Muara Centre, Kampong Pekan Muara.

The guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Hj Mohammad Bin Hj Daud, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present were Deputy Chairman of BIBD Berhad, Member of Board of Directors, Syariah Advisory members, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Permanent Secretary, heads of government agencies, penghulus and village heads.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Doa AlFatihah followed by the welcoming remarks by the chairman of the opening ceremony and also Managing Director of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, Awang Hj Muhammad Syaippudin Bin Hj Abdullah.

Meanwhile, in his speech, the guest of honour said that "since more then 13 years ago, Islamic banking and finance have been playing an important role in the economy, especially for the private sector in helping fulfil the country's aspirations in various economic activities".

"The fact that the industry is growing so quickly shows the increased public confidence in Islamic financial products," he said.

The new BIBD branch is located in a strategic location and expands the operations of BIBD in fulfilling the needs of customers.
