Health Tip: Watery Eyes?
New York -
Watery eyes can be caused by a variety of factors, including
an eye infection, allergy or irritation.
Watery eyes also can signal a more
serious problem, including a blocked tear duct that prevents tears
from draining normally.
The U.S. National Library of
Medicine recommends that you see your doctor if, in addition to
watery eyes, you have any of these symptoms:
- Persistent tearing without
apparent cause.
- Pain in the eye, especially
when it tears.
- Soreness around the eyes or
sinuses.
- Redness in the eye, or
significant discharge from the eye.
