Roses And Gift Baskets For Loved Ones

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Huge display of roses and gift baskets for Valentine's Day greeted customers of Soon Lee Megamart in Kampong Pandan yesterday for them to choose as gifts for their loved ones.

Roselyn Florist in Seria set up a booth at the supermarket entrance since Tuesday evening to make it convenient for customers to place flower or plant orders in view of the Valentine's Day yesterday and the Chinese Lunar New Year this Sunday.

According to florist Mr Ivan Chong, some 25 orders of flowers and gift baskets were made yesterday. This does not include pre-order plant decorations for Chinese New Year this Sunday, he said. The workmanship to design a gift basket can take about three hours and so early reservations from customers were required, he added.

A stalk of rose retails at $8 while gift packaging choices of teddy bears and chocolates range from $40 to $100, designed to suit everyone's budget. The booth will be open until the Chinese New Year. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
