Housing Development Department To Hold Cycling Event In KB

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Housing Development Department will be organising a Basikalton' as a side activity to mark World Habitat Day 2006, this February 25.

The 30-kilometre bicycle ride will start and finish at the community hall area of Kg Pandan National Housing Scheme at Jalan Pandan 5, Kuala Belait.

The guest of honour at the event is expected to be Pehin Dato Seri SetiaAwg Hj Abdullah, Minister of Development. Pehin Hj Abdullah is also expected to participate in the event.

The 'basikalton' is open to all cycling enthusiasts. Participants aged less than 15 years must be accompanied by their guardians. Participants will be charged $5 each to enter the event.

Participants are required to wear crash helmets for their own safety and suitable attire. They are also required to stay within the 25km/h speed limit throughout the journey.

Participants who do not obey the rules will be disqualified from the event. BMX bicycles are also not allowed in the event.

Registration forms can be obtained at Triple Star Enterprise, the Financial Section or Application Section of the Housing Development Department and the Housing Department Kuala Belait Branch. The closing date is Thursday, February 22.
