By P Marilyn
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Twenty-two participants comprising students from
higher education institutions, retirees, job seekers, private sector
employees as well as business owners took part in a two-day "Bright
Ideas" workshop held by Live WIRE at the Persatuan Guru-Guru Melayu
Brunei building in the capital.
The aim of the programme was to
introduce to the participants the required preparations and mindset
to start up a business and to eventually succeed in the business
world.
It was also aimed at providing an
opportunity for the participants to explore business ideas that are
available and business planning prior to starting up their business.
The workshop, which will come to a
close today (Feb 15), was facilitated by LiveWIRE Business
Counsellor, Steven Song.
This is the first workshop held by
LiveWIRE this year and the first out of the nine workshops that are
scheduled to be held throughout this year.
Six of the workshops will be open
to the public while the other three will only be open to students or
fresh graduates who need exposure to the business world.
Live WIRE will also be hosting the
first "Becoming a Successful Owner Manager" (BSOM) workshop from
March 12 to 15, an advanced course for committed entrepreneurs who
are keen to progress further. Five BSOM workshops are scheduled to
be held in the year.
In addition, Live WIRE also held a
three-day Leadership Camp in Temburong from February 9 to 11, with
30 participants. -- Courtesy of Borneo
