DPMMFC Want All Three Points
By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC will resume their Super League
campaign against Negeri Sembilan Naza at the Hassanal Bolkiah
National Stadium at eight tonight after more than a month's break.
Brunei DPMM FC hope to extend their
winning streak and bag all three points after coming off with two
impressive wins - beating Melaka 4-0 and Melaka Telekom FC 4-1 -
just before the break.
Negeri
Sembilan Naza with only two wins out of seven matches are bent on
stopping the marauding Brunei forwards.
Brunei DPMM FC head coach Buketa
Ranko has called on all local football fans to come in full force to
support the Brunei team and in the process to win the Super League.
"We need the support of the fans
when we are wining and even more when we are losing."
Disappointed with the number of
fans that turned up in previous games where the stadium is almost
empty, he said: "I am wondering where are the local fans this
season, as compared with last year when Brunei DPMM FC was in the
Malaysian League the crowd was bigger."
"We need fans to support Brunei
DPMM FC, the first team to make it into the Super League."
On the game against Negeri Sembilan
Naza tonight he said: "We will try to play our usual game and get
the three points which are very important."
"Currently, we are in fourth spot
of the standings with 12 points and hot on our heels are Kedah and
Penang with the same number of points."
Ranko
also warned his players against complacency when facing Negeri
Sembilan Naza who is currently in ninth spot.
"Negeri Sembilan Naza are one of
the best teams in the Super League. Last season they were the
champions of the league and also the finalists in the Malaysia Cup."
"But this season, they started off
on the wrong foot and after a long break, they definitely would want
to prove a point especially after making a few changes to their
team."
Touching on the performance of the
two new imports, Atilio Asuncion Cacerez and Alejandro Andres Tobar,
the coach said: "We have two new imports and its not easy for them
to perform after a short time but if we want to stay where we are
now, we need to win."
"I know if we play our way, we will
win. I expect the two new import players to play well especially our
tactical formation."
"For tonight's match, Sharul Rizal
will not be playing because of three yellow cards and will be
replaced by Ak Sharuddin. Fadlin Gelawat and Pg Sallehuddin are also
not 100% fit." -- Courtesy of Borneo
