HSBC To Organise Mosque Forum Project

Bandar Seri Begawan - A forum entitled "Globalisation… In Islamic Perspective" is scheduled to take place this Saturday, February 17 at the Jangsak Mosque.

HSBC through its Islamic Welfare Body is jointly organising the forum with the working committee of Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque. It is held to commemorate and welcome the Hijrah New Year 1428.

In conjunction with the event, a donation was handed over at the bank's head office in the capital yesterday morning.

HSBC Deputy CEO, Awg Rosdi Amin Dato Paduka Hj Yaakub, handed over the donation to Hj Lamat bin Hj Abd Rahman, Village Head of Kg Kilanas cum Advisor of the committee.

Close to 350 people are expected to attend the forum and the mosque will be inviting some youth from schools and youth organisations.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dato Paduka HajiAbd Rahman Mohiddin, will be the guest of honour.

According to the bank, the suHSBC Islamic Welfare Body is responsible for organising numerous religious activities throughout the year to strengthen brotherly relations among Muslim staff members with monthly Tahlil and Doa Arwah sessions and religious activities in collaboration with working committees of various mosques. Others in the yearly calendar of activities include mosque cleaning and renovation projects and Sungkai with Pulaie Complex residents.

Also present at the ceremony yesterday, were Chairman of BKI Awg Haji Muhd Sabirin bin Hj Othman and Imam Hi Zamhari bin Hj Ibrahim. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
