Brunei To Hold Grand Celebration
For Maulud

Begawan - Brunei Darussalam, with the majority of its
population being Muslims, will be celebrating the Maulud Nabi (pbuh)
on a national level. The event is aimed at developing and spreading
the "Syiar Islam" in the country as well as commemorating the birth
of Nabi Muhammad (pbuh).
To enliven the Islamic calendar
event for the Hijrah New Year 1428, the committee for the Islamic
Calendar 1428 invited ministries of government departments,
uniformed departments, mukims and village consultative councils,
nongovernment organisations, private companies, higher learning
institutions, colleges, and secondary and primary schools to join in
the assembly and marching for the Maulud Nabi (pbuh) celebration.
The national celebration will be
held simultaneously at all four districts on March 31. The actual
event will be at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in
Bandar Seri Begawan.
Applicants can obtain registration
forms from the Celebration Secretariat Islamic Calendar, Islamic
Education Department and Mosque Affairs Department at the Ministry
of Religious Affairs as well as the Brunei-Muara District Office at
the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Completed forms can be sent to the
Co-Chairman of the gathering at the "Bahagian Kemajuan Syiar Islam"
Level 2, Librarian Room at the Ministry of Religious Affairs'
building.
The deadline for registration is
