Agnes Monica Concert On Hold

Bandar Seri Begawan -The Agnes Monica Live in Brunei concert scheduled to take place on March 10, 2007 at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex in Berakas, has been put on hold.

For the past two weeks escalating rumours regarding the cancellation of the much anticipated concert and purchasers of the tickets priced at $30, 40, $60, $100 and $150 are becoming restless. Eighty per cent out of 7,000 tickets have ' already been sold.

"Due to some urgent matters we are putting everything on hold. I cannot say anything much about it now, but I'm not going to say it's cancelled," said Dk Sid Amal Zuria Pg Jaidi, a spokesperson from Aman Abadi Entertainment, the management responsible for organising the concert.

"Agnes is really hoping to perform in Brunei. Previously she has performed in only two other Asian countries - Singapore and Taiwan."

Agnes Monica has been in the entertainment industry since she was three years old and her acting and singing has earned her numerous national and also international awards.

The recent accomplishments of the 21-year-old include the MTV Indonesia Music Award for Most Favourite Female and Anugerah Music Indonesia for Best Pop Female Artiste as well as Panasonic Award for Best Actress in 2006 for her acting.

"Recently the Konsert Dangdut Indonesia 2007(KDI) was also cancelled giving a bad image on Brunei Darussalam. We have followed the procedure and are trying to settle everything by the end of the month," said Dk Sid Amal who declined to give further details.

However, "If there is any confirmation, we will update the public immediately and if it is negative, refunds will be made," she added. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
