Flag-Hoisting Held In Tutong

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Flag-Raising ceremony was held at the community hall in Tutong District on Sunday in conjunction with the 23`d National Day celebrations.

The function began with the reading of the al-Fatihah by Awg Sahibul Omar Hj Yusof, Imam of the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque.

The contingent carrying the national flags was escorted by members of the Tutong 4WD Association and the KEKAL Motorcycle Association of Tutong.

The guest of honour of the function, Acting District Officer of Tutong, Awg Haji Haris bin Othman, handed over the national flag to the Royal Brunei Police Force for the flag-hoisting ceremony.

As the flag was hoisted, the national anthem and patriotic songs were sung by students from Sekolah Menengah Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha.

The event continued with the handing over of flags and posters for the National Day celebrations to the Penghulus of Mukims in Tutong District and representatives of the Belia Cinta Tanahair programme. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
