Futsal For Youths

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Takmir Committee of Kg Pulaie Mosque in Berakas has been organising friendly futsal matches among the young worshippers every Sunday morning after the Subuh prayers.

Haji Ibrahim Haji Mohamad, a Takmir Committee member, said the football games aim to strengthen relationship among the mosque worshippers.

"The matches are led by the mosque's Imam, Hj Mohd Burhanuddin, and coordinated by the sports committee led by Hj Mansyur," he said. "The games are meant to encourage worshippers to spend time to keep fit and stay healthy, mentally and physically.

"They are also aimed at improving cardio-respiratory endurance and body composition. Futsal uses many body movements continuously so that the heart rate remains elevated," he said. Interested players can contact the mosque's sports committee for details. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
