Fire & Rescue Operation 'B' Holds Walkathon In Anduki

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 80 officials, firefighters and staff of Operation `B' Branch (Belait) of the Fire and Rescue Department took part in a branch walkathon activity yesterday morning at the Anduki Jubilee Recreational Park.

The walkathon was aimed at fostering relations among the personnel of Belait Operation `B'. The event was also meant to develop their mental and physical skills.

Present as chief guest at the event was Acting Director of the Fire and Rescue Department, Lim Hock Guan, who also led the walkathon.

The event began with welcoming remarks by Operation `B' Branch Commanding Officer, Acting Senior Superintendent Abdul Azis bin Hj Mohamad.

Participants then took part in an aerobics session conducted by the Physical Training Unit group, prior to the walkathon.

In the main event, male participants walked a distance of4.8 kilometres around- the park while female participants walked 2.4 kilometres.

The Commanding Officer hoped that such activity would be carried out consistently to intensify the physical skills of the officials, firefighters and staff of the operation and also to prepare participants for the upcoming annual sports competition. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
