Fires Damage 2 Cars, Foreigner
Hurt In Separate Incident

Begawan - Two cars caught fire due to a short-circuit
yesterday. In one of the incidents, five personnel led by DSO Mohd
Ali from the BSB Fire Station arrived at the scene at 2.52pm and
managed to prevent the fire, which broke out in the engine area,
from spreading to other parts of the car.
Damage was estimated at $12,000.
The driver managed to get out of the vehicle before the fire
engulfed the engine.
Head of investigations fire
prevention section ASFR Pg Hj Roslan Pg Hj Halus said "the fire was
due to a short circuit in the engine".
A similar incident occurred near
Chung Hwa Middle School, however a security guard from the school
managed to control the fire that engulfed the car. Personnel from
the BSB Fire Station arrived at the scene at 1.37pm.
The fire was also believed to be
due to a short circuit. Damage was estimated at $2,500.
Meanwhile, a vehicle was involved
in an accident in Jalan Subok. A squad. of five personnel led by DSO
Mohd Ali from the BSB Fire Station and four from Berakas Fire
Station led by ASO Yahya, reached the scene at 12.48pm.
In the accident involving two
foreign nationals, one of the car's occupants was trapped in the
vehicle and pulled out by the firefigthers.
One of the victims was taken to the
