By Man Othman

Bandar Seri Begawan - Berakas police recorded the biggest seizure of stolen electrical goods worth $15,000 this year after an unemployed drug suspect was arrested with the assistance of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The police said on Feb 10, following an NCB tip-off, the police confiscated the stolen items from the suspect, who is a divorcee aged in his 30s, at Lambak Kanan national housing scheme.

The items include nine car audio systems, three amplifiers, eight laptops of various brands, eight digital cameras, 40 mobile phones, several musical equipment, dozens of mobile phone chargers, four sets of game consoles, five CD players, three wristwatches, two printers and a computer monitor.

Police are asking people, who have lost electrical items, to bring along their original receipts if they wish to claim any of the recovered items.

The police said seven theft cases were recorded in February, while in January 17 theft cases were solved with 13 arrests. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
