Comets Slug Their Way To Title

Bandar Seri Begawan - Comets emerged as champions after crushing QD Vixens in the final of the Eratech Enterprise women's open softball tournament yesterday at Jerudong Park Country Club.

Present as guest of honour at the final was Datin Adinah Bte Hj Osman, Director of Community Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The Comets juggernaut proved unstoppable after dominating all four innings.

In the first innings, the Comets led by 7-0 and continued to stomp on their opponents in the second innings with an 8-0 score. In the third innings, the Comets managed to score only one.

In the fourth innings, the QD Vixens, determined to make a comeback, could only manage to score 1. The Comets came out winners in the final innings with the final score of 16 in favour of Comets to 1 for QD Vixens.

Third place went to Pasadena which beat Red Arrows 22-3.

The guest of honour presented prizes to the winners.

On Feb 19, the trials to select softball players to represent the country will be open to men and women. The venue will be announced at a later date. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
