'Eye Dotting' Ceremony At Seria New Village

Bandar Seri Begawan – Heavy rains didthe notHoi Gong discourage' orSeriaNew Village residents 'Eye Opening/Dotting" from attending ceremony organised by the New Village Mutual Aid Association.

The event was held at the village's basketball court Saturday night.

Association Assistant Chairman Chan Kim Min painted a lion's eye to `awaken its spirit', which according to Chinese beliefs will bring luck to the new lions.

The association's lion dance troupe will perform at members' homes on the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on February 18. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
