APBD Organises Basic Photography Workshop

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twelve enthusiasts attended a basic photography workshop yesterday to get some tips on the art at the Seameo Voctech building in Gadong.

Organised by the Association of Photographers Brunei Darussalam (APBD) and conducted by Hj Yacob Dato Paduka Hj Sunny, the programme focused on camera exposure, tone and composition.

The participants were also taught on operations, handling, parts and icons, as well as how to adjust the aperture and shutter speed, read the camera metre and practise shooting.

Hj Yacob stated that the workshop was suitable for both beginners and amateurs who want to have control over the outcome of their images. He added that photography is the art of capturing unique "moments in time".

"As a young man, I spent a significant amount of time exploring the wilderness. I saw the incredible beauty found in nature, but I found that my words failed to describe the wonders that I had experienced. Photography is a way of sharing these special moments with others," he said. APBD's President Hj Shamsuddin Idris was also present at the workshop to give his support and help the photographers.
