Immigration Officers Inspect School, 2 Detained
By Za'im Zaini

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two foreigners were detained last Saturday after officers from the Law Enforcement Section Department, Immigration and National Registration carried out a routine inspection at a private school in Jalan Muara.

The operation, which was led by a senior Immigration officer, involved six personnel.

During the inspection, five foreigners and two locals were questioned.

One foreign worker was believed to have been working in the country under a social visit pass. The other person, meanwhile, was supposed to work as a domestic helper as stated in the visa. However, it was found that this person was actually working as a cleaner at the private school. The two were detained pending further investigations.

Meanwhile, another foreign worker was issued with a special pass. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
