Brunei-Muara Penghulus Receive National Flag

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 18 penghulus from Brunei-Muara District received national flags to be hoisted at their residence in conjunction with the country's 23rd National Day celebration. The flags were handed over in a ceremony held at the Brunei District Office yesterday morning.

Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Paduka Hj Md Yussop bin Bakar, held a flag raising ceremony to kick start the event, which was followed by the roar of some 23 bikers from Pemoda and the Prisons Department band in a mini parade. Also present were Brunei-Muara Assistant District Officer, Hj Jamain bin Momin, Administrative Officer at the Brunei-Muara District Office, Hj Amir Azman, and 23 youths born in 1984.

At the flag hoisting ceremony, the national anthem was sung by the Berakas Secondary School choir. This was followed by the handing over of the national flag to penghulus of mukims in Brunei-Muara District by Dato Paduka Hj Md Yussop. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
