Woman Jailed For Overstaying

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Thai woman, 25, was jailed for four months after pleading guilty to overstaying in the country.

Siriphorn Singhasopar was recently arrested during a joint operation by Immigration Labour Departments and the Brunei-Muara District Office while manning a stall in Kg Tan long Nangka.

The defendant managed to produce a photocopy of her passport on the personnel's request and it was later found that she had only last extended her social visit pass up to June 22, 2006. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
