11 Foreigners Detained For Alleged Prostitution

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Anti-Vice Unit of RBPF's Crime Investigations Department has detained 11 foreign nationals, comprise nine women and two men, for further investigation and allegedly being involved in prostitution activities at two separate locations in Jalan Bunut and Jalan Berakas recently.

Anyone who is caught on the offences can be prosecuted under Section 5 (1) (AL) Women and Girls Protection Act Cap 120, and if found guilty, will face five years imprisonment, a $20,000 fine or both.

Under Section Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Act Cap 29, anyone found guilty will face seven years of imprisonment and 24 whips.
