BEnA was formed in 2002, and plays a major role in the development of the energy industry and in disseminating information and giving emphasis in energy conservation and efficiency to Bruneians.

The first 18-hole golf course in the country, the layout is generally characterised by flat terrain, with huge man-made lakes spread out over the course, and threatening bunkers strategically placed along landing areas and around the greens to penalise inaccuracy.

The tournament is the second of the year, and comes a week after the Inter-Ministries Goli Tournament.

The next golf tournament is tomorrow's New Year Challenge Trophy 2007 at the Royal Brunei Golf and Country Club, which was postponed last month due to the death of Dato Paduka Awang Hj Yakub bin Abu Bakar, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
