Executive Seminar On Upgrading
Performance
By Hadi DP Mahmud
Bandar Seri
Begawan - A Seminar on building high performance government
will be held on Monday, February 12 at the Orchid Garden Hotel in
Berakas.
Jointly organised by BAG Networks,
Accenture and Oracle, the seminar will highlight how proper
implementation and management of enterprise systems can lead to
higher levels of performance. Insights from a new study of
organisations with enterprise systems conducted by the Accenture
Institute for High Performance Business in 2005 and 2006 will be
shared with the invited guests.
These include how successful
organisations are using their systems to create new business value -
how they develop distinctive capabilities that gives them a
competitive advantage and analytics. Analytics are important tools
that enable executives to make better decisions, thus making it more
likely for organisations to reap what they sow. For the past
decade,' expensive enterprise systems were criticised for its
inability to provide organisations with the necessary competitive
edge. Enterprise systems, designed to bring a wide variety of
business benefits, were brought into organisations to replace
various technology applications which posed inter-operability
problems, amongst many others.
BAG Networks pointed out in its
media release yesterday that Accenture's latest research has shown
that enterprise systems are now helping organisations achieve higher
performances. However, not all organisations achieve benefits
equally, BAG Networks stated. Accenture's new study showed that top
performers, as compared to low performers, took a distinctively
different approach to implementing and leveraging their enterprise
systems.
"With the completion of the
e-government programme audit exercise, perhaps the deliberations in
this seminar may reinforce the justification for the planned actions
to be taken to quicken the e-government programme implementation
process," Mohd Shakharulain Mohd Thani, General Manager of BAG
Networks explained.
The seminar, by invitation only, is
expected to be attended by more than 70 senior executives from both
the public and private sectors with Deputy Minister of
Communication, Dato Paduka Hj Yusoff Hj Abd Hamid as the guest of
honour. -- Courtesy of
