Telbru Inks Mou With Sacofa

Begawan - Sacofa Sdn Bhd, a state-owned company in Sarawak
that has been licensed to provide telecommunications network
facilities and multimedia services in East Malaysia, yesterday
signed a business collaboration agreement with TelBru to facilitate
the joint use of telecommunications network facilities between
Brunei Darussalam and East Malaysia.
The agreement will enable Te1Bru to
carry Sacofa's telephony, data and Internet traffic from the state
of Sarawak through its SeaMeWe3 Submarine Cable System in Tungku.
Sacofa
has terrestrial transmission coverage in Sarawak and also a
submarine cable connecting Sarawak and West Malaysia.
"The signing of this contract
signifies another milestone of achievement in telecommunication
services in Brunei Darussalam where both companies will benefit from
joint business opportunities in the fields of internet IP transit,
voice and data service," said Managing Director of TelBru, Awg Song
Kin Koi.
This is in line with TelBru's
strategy of developing its business opportunities outside Brunei
Darussalam, he added.
The memorandum was formalised in a
ceremony held at Te1Bru's headquarters in Berakas. Signing on behalf
of TelBru was Awg Song Kin Koi while Sacofa was represented by its
CEO, Abang Jemat Abang Bujang.
Te1Bru's General Manager of
Corporate Affairs Unit, Dyg Hjh Norliha Hj Abu Bakar, and Chief
Operating Officer of Sacofa, Encik Mohd Siril Ansor Mahabon, signed
as witnesses. Also attending the signing ceremony were senior
