Airasia Offers Direct Flights To
Penang From KK, Kuching

Begawan - Airasia has announced its latest route which flies
direct from Kota Kinabalu or Kuching to Penang starting from
February 7.
In a statement issued by Air Asia,
as of February 7, both airlines’ hubs in East Malaysia are serving
direct flight to the Pearl of Orient island of Peninsular Malaysia.
Penang
International Airport received the inaugural flight from Kuching
with AirAsia aircraft landed on the tarmac at 7.40pm on February 7,
carrying 100 guests onboard.
Flight AK5951 was received by Teng
Chang Yeow, Penang Exco, Tourist Development & Environment and Dato'
Tony Fernandes, Group CEO of AirAsia Berhad.

greeted the passengers disembarking from the aircraft.
The inaugural flight from Kota
Kinabalu arrived earlier in the morning with flight AK5851 carrying
81 guests onboard.
The statement further added that
AirAsia will operate four flights weekly to Penang from its hubs in
Kota Kinabalu and Kuching respectively.

Tony Fernandes also stated that with the latest addition, not only
will Penang enjoy connectivity from five AirAsia hubs, which are the
Low Cost Carrier Terminal, Johor Bahru, Bangkok, Kota Kinabalu and
Kuching, but it will also benefit from passenger traffic passing
through these hubs including tourist traffic from Vietnam,
