Impromptu Speakers Compete In Seria

Bandar Seri Begawan - Oil Town Talkers Toastmasters Club (Otters TMC) is to host an area-level international speech and table topics contest at the Oil & Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) theatre in Seria on Sunday, February 11, starting at 10am. Admission will be free.

The contest will see the host and participants from two other clubs in Area K6, District 51 Toastmasters namely HSBC speakers Group and the Brunei Speakers' Club vie for the championship.

Based in Belait district, Otters TMC was officially chartered on March 1, 2006. Its members meet once a week in which they speak for two minutes on a topic not known beforehand. This exercise encourages quick thinking and the development of impromptu speaking skills. Toastmasters also prepare speeches and develop their presentation skills from the Toastmasters Educational Programme. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
