By Azaraimy & Za'im Zaini
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Indonesian artistes scheduled to perform in the "Konsert
Dangdut Indonesia KDI 2007" on February 10, flew home yesterday
after authorities withdrew approval of the show.
According to organisers, Asey
Production, the show that was to be held this Thursday at the
Amphitheatre, Jerudong Park Country Club from 7.30pm till 12am, had
received an encouraging response with only four tickets left unsold.
They added that they were saddened
by the withdrawal of approval. They had appealed to authorities to
allow the concert to go on but had been denied. Asey Production said
estimated losses from the concert cancellation were around $135,000.
A representative from the
management of KDI, Athie, said she was disappointed to not be able
to perform on February 10. She hoped fans here in Brunei will be
patient and continue to support KDI. She added that she also felt
sorry for the organisers who stood to lose a considerable amount
from the cancellation.
According to her, they have never
had a last minute cancellation before, however she was still hopeful
that she would be able to perform in Brunei in the future.
Those who have purchased their
tickets can refund them from where the purchase was made, organisers
said. -- Courtesy of Borneo
