Ministry Of Finance Holds Hijrah New Year Celebration

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Finance held a Hijrah new year celebration yesterday at the Ministry of Finance building, Commonwealth Drive in Berakas.

Guest of honour at the event was Minister of Finance II, Pehin Dato Awg Hj Abd Rahman. Also present were State Mufti, Pehin Dato Ustaz Hj Awg Abdul Aziz bin Juned, Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Finance, Dato Paduka Hj Metasan and Dato Paduka Hj Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Finance, Awg Hj Mohd Rozan and Awg Hj Bahrin, as well as heads of department and sections within the ministry.

Over 250 staff members from Brunei Investment Agency, TAP, departments under the Ministry of Finance along with officers of the Mufti Office and Prime Minister's Office also attended the gathering.

In his welcoming address, Chairman of the event, Dato Paduka Hj Ali said the ministry will execute a strategic plan to ensure a sound financial system that is strong and dynamic, which is a 'hijrah' (move) for the ministry to establish a financial system that is robust and competitive.
