‘Rude Reception’ At Malaysian Border
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - A local woman got the biggest shock of her life Tuesday evening when she submitted a vehicle entry permit to an official of the Malaysian Royal Excise and Customs Department at Tedungan.

The official allegedly threw away the vehicle entry permit even though it was still valid for another three months.

She submitted the entry permit to be stamped by the official, while her husband was queuing in the car to have their passports stamped at Tedungan after a day trip to Limbang.

"My husband was furious but we were still in another country, and so decided not to ask for an explanation," she said.

On their return to Brunei, they decided to make a formal complaint yesterday to the Malaysian High Commission which promised to look into the matter.

The husband said his wife did not provoke the official and they were really hurt by the reception they received. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
