Bandar Seri Begawan - Hornbill School in Seria recently held its first Expressive Arts Week with lots of exciting activities.

The week got off with fantastic performances by the First Royal Gurkha Rifles (RGR), Khukuri Dance Group, Swan Music together with Mr Ceasar Centano on the guitar and the school's Nepali dancers: Bhawana Paija, Apeksha Gurung, Prerana Gurung and Anjalina Gurung.

These performances were followed by workshops with the First RGR and Khukuri Dance Group where children were given an opportunity to learn a short Khukuri dance. There were also two workshops for the juniors with Swan Music where children were able to play various instruments and sing with professional musicians.

The week drew to a close with two piano recitals presented by Mr Steve Reynolds and the school's pianists, Sydney Ashley and Moses Tan.

Pia Treitlein, who co-led the initiative, said the project was aimed at promoting a wide diversity of music, dance and drama and to develop the students' creative talents. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
