30,000 Mini Flags To A Distribute

Begawan - More Bruneian mini national flags will be
distributed for this year's 23rd national day celebrations, with
30,000 of the mini flags produced this year as compared to 25,000
last year.
Pg Hj Manshor Pg Hj Jaya, head of
the mini-flag distribution committee, yesterday said that an
additional 5,000 mini flags will be made available to all the
country's four districts following an increase in public demand.
"The Minister of Culture,
Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya
Seri Dewa Major General (R) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Mohammad Hj Daud,
will launch the distribution of the mini flags on Friday, February
16," he said during a media conference.
About 600 people, including
volunteers, will be at a parade which will take off from the Rizqun
International Hotel at lam that day, he added.
Participants in the parade will
have either the left-hand side or the top of their cars attached
with the mini national flags explained Pg Manshor, who is also the
co-secretary of the national day sponsorship committee. The parade
is scheduled to pass through 18 different locations, including
Beribi Industrial Estate, Jalan Tasek Lama, Jalan Berakas and Jalan
Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah on' the morning of February 16. The parade
is also scheduled to pass through the Centre point Hotel, Hua Ho,
Manggis Mall, and the capital's public bus station area in the
afternoon at 2.30pm.
The distribution of the mini
national flags will continue throughout the night at the Centre
point Hotel area.
In addition, committee members will
make their way to the Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts to give
out some 3,000, 2,500 and 1,500 mini flags respectively. Twenty
three thousands mini flags have been allocated for the Brunei-Muara
district. Meanwhile the public is advised not to take down the
mini-flags before February 26, as a way to show their spirit of
patriotism for the national day celebrations. This will be the
eighth time the mini flags are being distributed to mark the
