Certificate Presentation For
Pre-Vocational Induction Programme

Begawan - A COURSE for pre-vocational homeroom subject
teachers and vocational technical instructors organised by the
Special Education Unit of the Ministry of Education recently came to
a close.
The course, which was aimed at
increasing awareness and deepening the understanding among teachers
on the Pre-Vocational Programme, was attended by 45 secondary school
teachers.
In his speech, the guest of honour
Acting Head of Special Education Unit, Awang Haji Abd Aj i bin Hj
Ishak, said that although the course had come to an end, he hoped
that participants will continue to widen their knowledge on
Pre-Vocational Programme.
The course, which began on Jan 8,
was held from Monday to Wednesday. Officers from the Special
Education Unit conducted the lectures and practical sessions.
Participants were briefed on the various support services and
programmes handled by the Unit.
Participants were also exposed to
numerous teaching strategies and explored materials and resources
that could be applied when facing students with special needs.
Participants also visited Sekolah
Menengah Sayyidina 'Othman to look closely at the classroom set-up
of a PreVocational' programme. They also had the opportunity to play
Bocce, a Special Olympics sport which is similar to lawn-bowling.
The participants said they enjoyed and appreciated the visits made
during the course as part of their job-awareness training in the
Pre-Vocational programme.
Places visited included Sabli's and
ATH Garments at Serambangun Industrial area, Pusat Pembangunan
Keusahawanan Sinaut and Pusat Ehsan at Kampong Bengkurong.-- Courtesy of Borneo
