Body Of Missing Woman Found At
Tungku Beach

Begawan - The body of the third drowning victim, who was
reported missing Saturday, was found lying with her face buried in
sand near the Tungku Beach yesterday morning by a group of joggers.
Twenty-one-year-old Filipino
national, Maralla Raya, was one of the three who drowned while
taking a dip in the rough sea at the Berakas Forest Reserve.

Lopez, 21, and a Malaysian man were the other two who were declared
dead Saturday.
They were part of a group of
foreign workers who had come on an outing to celebrate the birthday
of their colleague.
An ambulance from the RIPAS
Hospital was the first to arrive at the scene yesterday morning
after receiving a call from a member of the public at 8.20am.
The Berakas Police District
received a call at 8.45am from one of the joggers who stumbled upon
the body, while the Search and Rescue team from the Fire and Rescue
Department received a call at around 9.15am.
According to Assistant Station
Officer, Md. Harris, of the Berakas Fire Station Diving Unit,
`Between 30 and 40 personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces,
Royal Brunei Police Force and Fire and Rescue were searching for the
body for the last 24 hours.
"The Berakas Forestry Reserve,
which was closed to the public Saturday to facilitate the search and
rescue operation, is now open," he added.
"We received the report at about
9.15am yesterday morning. The body was found by a jogger three
kilometres from the scene of the mishap, near the Tungku Beach," he
added.
The body was taken to the RIPAS
Hospital mortuary.
Sources in the hospital told the
Bulletin that another woman, who was revived using CPR after being
pulled out of the waters Saturday, listed in critical condition and
admitted to SIOU Saturday is currently in a stable condition. -- Courtesy of Borneo
